Professor Simon Redfern to move to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

College Fellow Professor Simon Redfern has been at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore). He will start his new role next summer.

Before coming to Cambridge, Professor Redfern was Lecturer in Geochemical Spectroscopy in the Departments of Earth Sciences and Chemistry at the University of Manchester. He was the founding Chair of the NERC Cambridge Earth System Science DTP as well as being a Director of Studies at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½Ó¿Ú, which he joined in 1997.

Professor Redfern is currently Professor of Mineral Physics and Head of the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He is also a member of the Committee on Radioactive Waste Management, providing independent scrutiny and advice to the UK governments on the long term management of higher activity radioactive wastes. He has previously served as a British Science Association Science Media Fellow at the BBC.

As Dean of NTU’s College of Science, he will oversee the Asian School of the Environment, the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
